Modeling is a waiting game. You wait for your makeup to be done. Then you wait for your clothes to be fixed with the last-minute details. And right before you head out to the runway, you wait for your turn. And right before they go out on the runway, there’s a team doing last-minute touch-ups. The same thing happens during photoshoots too.
Because there are so many things involved, models are often prepped quickly. Time is gold in the fashion industry. That’s why when models are having their makeup, there’s also someone doing their nails and hair at the same time. It’s normal to have a team of three people or more huddled around a single model.
You’ll notice that some are being interviewed while some are practicing things such as their poses and walks in the background. But one thing they always do backstage is that they always make sure that they look good in every candid photo possible.
Well, some models also kill time by reading paperback books or doodling aboard. Some eat sandwiches at the buffet while waiting their turn to get their whole look done.
While some models are waiting, there are also others that were getting dressed. That’s why some of them kill their time by talking with other models or doing other things like dancing or checking their phones.
Most people often perceive modeling as an industry full of glitz and glamour. What people don’t realize is that it requires a lot of patience and effort.
