The collection drew inspiration from Ian Griffiths, a creative director. He was inspired by the simple lifestyle and culture of the Mediterranean. Here are 3 things to know about this collection.

1. The collection prioritizes style with functionality

Max Mara wanted functioning clothes that give its wearers empowerment and pride. So to make that happen, the 101801 coat was reinvented using jersey fabric. The result is a low-maintenance coat that will last you for a long time.

2. It’s inspired by the simplicity of the Mediterranean lifestyle

The initial designs were closer to mid-century styles worn by socialites. You’ll often see those styles popular among yacht enthusiasts. That’s why the style was incorporated with elements that give a clean look to the vibe.

3. One of its biggest inspirations are the Swans of Truman Capote

Back in the 1950s, Capote stayed in Ischia for almost four months. He wrote essays during those times. Griffith noticed how air travel was different back then. Travelling was luxurious and slow-paced. There’s was always time to get to know the place and indulging in its atmosphere. It’s the same with Capote’s Swans too. They’d go on shopping trips in Paris and then go to Ischia to relax and unwind.

The blend of simplicity and elegance makes this collection a staple for all seasons.
